Roundup of the latest Premier League action as the title fight grew closer.

Leandro Trossard’s late strike saw league leaders, Arsenal snatch a 1-0 victory at third-bottom West Ham to sit five points clear at the summit, despite Callum Wilson’s injury-time equaliser for the Hammers having been disallowed due to a block from Pablo on David Raya.

Manchester City though had initially cut the gap to two points before Arsenal’s trip to the London Stadium after they thrashed Brentford 3-0, courtesy of second-half goals from Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush.

Man City proceeded to reduce that gap back to two points after they cruised to a 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace in a rearranged midweek clash, as Antoine Semenyo and Marmoush scored from assists by Phil Foden before Savinho wrapped up the result late on.

Third-placed Manchester United stuttered to a goalless draw away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Fourth-placed Liverpool were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea, having led through Ryan Gravenberch’s sixth-minute curled finish until Enzo Fernandez equalised with a low free-kick in the 36th minute.

Fifth-placed Aston Villa missed a chance to leapfrog Liverpool after they were held to a 2-2 draw at second-bottom Burnley, in which Ollie Watkins put them in front at Turf Moor after Ross Barkley’s finish cancelled out Jaidon Anthony’s opener before Zian Flemming snatched a point for the Clarets.

Elsewhere, Rayan’s 53rd-minute strike saw Bournemouth keep sixth place in their own hands with a 1-0 win at Fulham, despite red cards for both teams as Ryan Christie was first sent off for a foul on Fulham’s Timothy Castagne before Joachim Andersen was dismissed for a tackle on Adrien Truffert.

Early goals from Jack Hinshelwood and Lewis Dunk saw Brighton cruise to an eventual 3-0 victory at home to rock-bottom Wolves, which was sealed by Yankuba Minteh’s 86th-minute finish.

Crystal Palace twice fought back to snatch a 2-2 draw at home to Everton as Ismaila Sarr cancelled out James Tarkowski’s early first-half effort, before Jean-Philippe Mateta’s strike salvaged a point for Palace after Beto restored Everton’s lead in the 47th minute.

Elliot Anderson’s 88th-minute strike rescued a 1-1 draw for Nottingham Forest against his former team, Newcastle at the City Ground.

Tottenham moved two points clear of the relegation zone after they were held to a 1-1 draw against Leeds in North London, after Mathys Tel initially put them in front before his foul on Ethan Ampadu allowed Dominic Calvert-Lewin to equalise from the penalty spot.
