Newly promoted Brentford will begin their maiden Premier League campaign at home to Arsenal as the 2021-22 Premier League fixture list is announced.
Thomas Frank’s Bees will host Arsenal at Brentford Community Stadium on the weekend of 13-16 August as Mikel Arteta’s Gunners start their campaign for a second consecutive season away at a London rival, having won away to Fulham in last season’s opening match.
Like in 2019-20 season, Norwich will start their campaign back in the top flight against Liverpool, albeit this time at home at Carrow Road rather than away at Anfield which coincidentally was the season that Liverpool went on to become champions for the first time in 30 years.
Last season’s Sky Bet Championship runner-up, Watford will meanwhile host Aston Villa in a rare occurrence of all three promoted teams starting the season at home on the opening weekend.
Further highlights include another tasty cross-London derby as Chelsea face Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, whilst Tottenham Hotspur will host reigning champions – Manchester City in an early blockbuster tie.
Manchester United will host Leeds United at Old Trafford whilst Burnley will meet Brighton in an early clash that could be key in the relegation fight.
Newcastle for the second consecutive season will face West Ham on the opening weekend but this time at St James’ Park, where they won a five goal thriller in April.
Leicester likewise will meet Wolves again on the opening weekend, having previously done so in 2019-20 at the King Power Stadium, which ended in a goalless draw.
Everton will begin life under their new manager with a home clash against Southampton at Goodison Park.

The final day of the 2021-22 season will take place on Sunday 22 May 2022 with Arsenal set to host Everton in the stand-out tie, which could well see both teams chasing European qualification if they can enjoy better results than last season.
Brentford will conclude their first Premier League season against Leeds United at home whilst fellow promoted club – Norwich will host Tottenham Hotspur and Watford will visit Chelsea.
Defending champions, Man City will be looking to lift the trophy again at home as they take on Villa on the final day as local rivals, Manchester United visit Crystal Palace to finish their season.
Leicester and Liverpool will wrap up their campaigns at home to Southampton and Wolves respectively, whilst Newcastle and West Ham face final day away trips to Burnley and Brighton respectively.

Boxing Day sees a relatively weak fixture list with Manchester City’s home clash against Leicester and Manchester United’s trip to Newcastle the only stand-out fixtures.
New Year’s Day fixture list however sees two blockbuster clashes in the Capital as Arsenal host Manchester City and Liverpool visit Chelsea.
All fixtures however are subject to change once broadcast selections are made with the Premier League set to return to its traditional scheduling system of BT having Saturday lunchtime kick-offs alongside two midweek rounds.
Sky meanwhile will transmit matches across their usual slots of 5:30pm (GMT) on Saturdays followed by 2:00pm and 4:30pm double-headers on Super Sunday along with matches across Friday and Monday evenings.

Manchester
Last season’s top two will first meet this season at Old Trafford on the weekend commencing 6 November as Man Utd host Man City, with Pep Guardiola’s Citizens hosting the return leg at the Etihad Stadium on weekend of 5 March 2022.
