Nottingham Forest continue their fight for Premier League survival against Burnley.
Victory would see Forest stay 16th but move five points clear of the relegation zone, whilst Burnley will stay second-bottom irrespective of the result.
Team News
Callum Hudson-Odoi is ruled out for Forest after he suffered a muscle injury during their 1-0 home win over Porto in the second leg of their Europa League Quarter-Final.
Murillo (knock) and Chris Wood (knee) face late fitness checks.
Elliot Anderson won’t be rushed back into the matchday squad after the death of his mother just hours before their win over Porto, which saw him withdraw from the squad selection under the tragic circumstances.
Willy Boly, Nicolo Savona and John Victor (all knee) remain absent.
Burnley will welcome Josh Laurent back from suspension, which saw him sit out their 2-0 home defeat to Brighton.
Axel Tuanzebe (Achilles) faces a late fitness test but Hannibal Mejbri (thigh), Zeki Amdouni (knee), Josh Cullen (ACL), Conor Roberts (Achilles) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Forest host Burnley at City Ground on Sunday 19 April at 14:00pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Forest are yet to lose to Burnley in the Premier League (W1, D2).
- Burnley drew 1-1 in their only previous Premier League visit to Forest in September 2023.
- Forest are yet to keep a clean sheet against Burnley in the Premier League.
- Vitor Pereira’s Forest have dropped six points in their last four matches (W1, D3).
- Burnley have scored one goal in their last four matches (D1, L3), which came from Zian Flemming in a 3-1 loss at Fulham in March.
Prediction
Although they pulled off a clinical victory over Porto to reach the Europa League semi-finals, Forest now can’t afford to lose sight of their priority which is Premier League survival and really have a chance to put some daylight between themselves and the drop if they pull off another win.
Burnley though will be frustrated because the offside flag proved to be their enemy in their defeat to Brighton more than the Seagulls actually were, because they did have spells of positive attacking play yet just unluckily felt foul of the offside rule quite a bit so that aspect of their end product play needs polishing.
Nevertheless Burnley are surely down and I just don’t see them getting anything here if Forest are able to avoid fatigue after their Europa League antics on Thursday evening, otherwise this will surely be a draw if the Clarets avoid their pesky offside issues.
Prediction: Forest 1-0 Burnley
Result: Forest 4-1 Burnley
