2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week 35 – Tuesday

Ipswich Town host Hull City in a huge rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash in the race for promotion.

Victory would see Ipswich climb above Millwall into third, whilst Hull can climb above the Tractor Boys themselves into third with a win.

Team News

Ipswich have no fresh injury concerns after their 3-0 victory at home to Swansea.

Jaden Philogene (knee), Ashley Young (muscle) and Conor Townsend (ACL) remain absent.

Hull could welcome Semi Ajayi back from a lengthy hamstring injury, which had sidelined him since he returned from international duty for Nigeria at Africa Cup of Nations.

Mo Belloumi, Toby Collyer, Ryan Giles, Matty Jacob (all hamstring), Darko Gyabi (groin), Yu Hirakawa (ankle) and Elliot Matazo (knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Ipswich host Hull at Portman Road on Tuesday 3 March at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Ipswich are unbeaten in their last four meetings against Hull (W3, D1), having failed to win any of the previous 14 clashes beforehand (D3, L11).
  • Hull are unbeaten in seven of their last eight visits to Ipswich (W6, D1, L1).
  • Across their last eight trips to Ipswich, Hull have kept five clean sheets.
  • Ipswich are unbeaten in their last 11 league matches at home (W8, D3).
  • Hull have kept clean sheets in four of their last five away games (W5).

Prediction

Having now claimed back-to-back victories to end their recent dip in consistency, Ipswich begin this match with renewed confidence after clinical displays against Watford and Swansea in which they kept clean sheets.

Hull meanwhile were absolutely outplayed at Portsmouth but they dug in defensively and managed to grind out a clinical second-half winner, but the fact that they defended a lot will raise questions of their fitness coming into this massive fixture if they again must do most of the defending.

Portman Road though has been kind to Hull in recent visits and the Tigers are also in solid defensive form on the road lately, so I do think that this will be much tougher than some might think which makes me lean towards a draw given what’s at stake.

Prediction: Ipswich 1-1 Hull

Result: Ipswich 1-0 Hull
