Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Thomas Frank as manager after a disastrous slump in their Premier League form.

Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou in June 2025 after the Greek-Australian’s sacking divided supporters and won two of his first three competitive games in charge, having only lost the UEFA Super Cup to PSG on penalties after a 2-2 draw before he won his first two Premier League matches with Spurs.

Tottenham’s league form however has since dramatically slid to the extent that they’ve won just two of their last 17 top-flight matches, across which they only accrued 12 points which has left them sat 16th and five points above the relegation zone after 26 matches to the supporters’ fury.

Their domestic form also saw them take just four points from eight league games across 2026 so far alone, which included no victories.

Within that period, Spurs also exited the Carabao Cup and FA Cup to Newcastle and Aston Villa respectively, but they are through to the Round of 16 stage in the Champions League; having finished fourth in the league phase with a record of five wins, two draws and one defeat in eight matches.

Their 2-1 home defeat against Newcastle however proved to be the final straw for Tottenham’s board despite their repeated backing of Frank amidst fierce criticism, and the 52-year-old Dane was consequently relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

Following a board meeting to discuss Frank’s future, the club decided to part company with Frank as they issued a club statement explaining that “results and performances” left them no choice than to make a change in a bid to preserve their top-flight status.

“The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.

“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.

“However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.

“Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”

Frank consequently has left after just 38 games in charge of Spurs of all competitions in which he took 13 wins, 11 draws and 14 losses, with just points-per-game average of 1.29 which ranked him as one of the club’s worst managers in the Premier League era.
