Tottenham Hotspur look to end their winless rut in a huge Premier League encounter against Newcastle United.
Victory will lift Tottenham up to 13th until at least Wednesday evening, whilst Newcastle can climb to ninth if Bournemouth slip up at Everton.
Team News
Cristian Romero is suspended for Tottenham following his red card in their 2-0 loss at Manchester United.
Destiny Udogie is ruled out after he suffered a hamstring injury in that game.
Djed Spence (calf) could return if he passes a late fitness test.
Kevin Danso (toe), Pedro Porro, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison (all hamstring), Lucas Bergvall, Ben Davies (both ankle), Mohammed Kudus (quad), James Maddison (ACL) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) are still ruled out.
Newcastle could welcome Anthony Gordon and Lewis Miley back from respective hamstring and knee injuries, subject to late fitness tests.
Emil Krafth (knee), Joelinton (groin), Tino Livramento (hamstring) and Fabian Schar (ankle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Newcastle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday 10 February at 7:30pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 3 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have claimed just four points in their last seven league meetings against Newcastle (W1, D1, L5).
- Newcastle have claimed 10 points in their last five visits to Tottenham (W3, D1, L2)
- Spurs have lost two of their last three home meetings against Newcastle by 2-1 results.
- Tottenham have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six league matches (D3, L3).
- Newcastle have lost both of their two away top-flight matches this season against London-based opposition by 3-1 results, which came at West Ham and Brentford in November 2025.
Prediction
With no wins in their eight league matches so far since the turn of 2026 and out of the FA Cup, Tottenham were pretty lacklustre at Man Utd with little attacking quality so a huge improvement is needed to stop this rut amidst pressure on manager – Thomas Frank.
Romero’s red card however has robbed them of clear on-pitch leadership in a match where they need his presence so this is a tough ask, but they simply have to bring more fight than they delivered at Old Trafford.
Newcastle meanwhile were simply undone defensively at home to Brentford with Kieran Trippier in particular outplayed by Dango Ouattara – who got a goal and assist, yet they weren’t clinical enough again despite their decent attacking build-up play.
If there is one positive though for Eddie Howe then it is that his team do look like a stronger attacking team than Spurs, so this could come down to whichever team is more clinical on the day, of which I do think that Newcastle should have the edge if Harvey Barnes can sort out the accuracy on his final touches.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle
Result: Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle
