Everton have signed forward, Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the 2025-26 season.

George’s loan switch comes amidst a need for regular senior game time for the 19-year-old, who has scored three goals in 11 seasons this season for the Blues, whilst Everton needed extra reinforcement which made the loan deal ideal for all involved without any obligation to buy clauses included.

George will wear the number 19 shirt at Everton and in his first interview with evertontv, he spoke of his excitement to join the Toffees on loan.

“I’m really excited to be here and to enjoy this massive club. I just can’t wait to get started.

“The fans here are exceptional. I know Evertonians are really passionate. They like hard work – and that’s what I’m going to show. I want to be exciting and I want to impress them.

“The gaffer, David Moyes, was another reason [I wanted to join]. He’s an amazing manager who has coached so many players, like Wayne Rooney, and players like that. I’ve had a brief conversation with him and he’s an amazing person as well.

“I just want to enjoy it, learn under him and improve.”

Everton are currently amongst several clubs in the race for European qualification in a tight Premier League mid-table crowd, and George believes that achieving European football for next season is achievable.

“Getting European football for next season is a good target for us and I know everyone will be working hard to achieve it.

“I want to come here and help the team win as many games as possible and keep climbing up the table.”

Manager, David Moyes praised George’s versatility as a key strength behind his loan signing and can’t wait to get to work with him.

“Tyrique is a versatile forward who can play all across the front line. I hope he will settle quickly into our squad, and the support from our fans will definitely help him feel at home. We are looking forward to working with him.”

George began his career with Chelsea at Under-8s level in 2014 and has since graduated through the academy ranks into the senior squad, which saw him make his first Premier League appearance as an unused substitute in a 6-0 home win over Everton in April 2024.

He subsequently made his senior debut as a substitute in an UEFA Conference League defeat at Servette in the second leg of their play-off in August 2024, although Chelsea ultimately won that tie on aggregate and went on to win the title that season in which he scored one goal in 13 appearances in that competition.

George in total has scored six goals in 37 senior appearances for Chelsea.
