2025-26 League Two: Week 29 – Bromley vs Crewe Alexandra

Bromley look to further consolidate their promotion challenge against Crewe Alexandra in a Sky Bet League Two clash.

Victory could put Bromley as much as nine points clear at the summit if results elsewhere go in their favour, whilst Crewe can climb to ninth with a win if Colchester and Grimsby both lose elsewhere.

Team News

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report although Marcus Ifill is set to return after he missed their 2-1 comeback win over Swindon on Saturday, due to a swollen ankle.

Crewe  could welcome midfielder, Conor Thomas back from a calf injury, but otherwise have no fresh injury concerns after their 1-0 defeat at Notts County.

Omar Bogle (unspecified), Jack Lankester, Joel Tabiner (both knee), Emre Tezgel (ankle) and Shilow Tracey (leg) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Bromley face Crewe at Copperjax Stadium on Tuesday 27 January at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bromley have won just one of three previous League Two meetings against Crewe Alexandra (W1, L2).
  • Crewe won 2-1 in their only previous League Two trip to Bromley in August 2024.
  • Bromley’s Michael Cheek has scored in each of his last two appearances against Crewe (W1, L1).
  • Bromley haven’t lost any of their last 16 league matches at home since a 3-2 loss against Salford in March 2025 (W12, D4).
  • Crewe have lost their last three away matches across which they conceded four goals without reply (L3).

Prediction

Currently in the middle of a tricky run of fixtures, Bromley will be pleased with their clinical second-half display to beat Swindon because they were outclassed in the first half – yet had Grant Smith to thank for his superb goalkeeping that they were able to recover from 1-0 down in front of a sell-out crowd.

They now need to put that result behind them because this is set to be another difficult test against a front-footed possession-based creative team, but I expect them to cope with this challenge as some of their best play have come when outplayed on the ball.

Crewe though are currently in a small rut away from home with no goals in their last three away trips but there is no doubting their quality, yet they didn’t even muster a shot on target at Notts County so I do feel that they will produce a serious reaction to that wasteful performance.

Bromley however have proven to be a team that nobody want to visit this season such is their record so I fancy the Ravens to grind out a draw, especially if this is just as close as their away win at Crewe was in October.

Prediction: Bromley 1-1 Crewe Alexandra

Result: Bromley 2-2 Crewe Alexandra
