2025-26 UEFA Champions League: League Phase – Bodo/Glimt vs Man City

Bodo/Glimt host Manchester City in their penultimate league phase fixture in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.

Victory would lift Bodo/Glimt as high as 25th for a few hours if Club Brugge fail to win at Kairat in the mid-afternoon kick-off, whilst Man City can climb to second for a few hours at minimum.

Team News

Jostein Gundersen (suspension) and Haitam Aleesami (hamstring) are ruled out for Bodo/Glimt.

Man City will welcome Omar Marmoush back from international duty at Africa Cup of Nations.

Matheus Nunes is ruled out due to illness.

Oscar Bobb, Ruben Dias (both hamstring), Josko Gvardiol (leg), John Stones (thigh), Nicolas Gonzalez (knock), Mateo Kovacic (foot) and Savinho (calf) remain sidelined.

New City signing, Marc Guehi is ineligible due to having not been registered for this phase of the competition.

When is Kick-Off?

Bodo/Glimt host Man City at Aspmyra Stadion on Tuesday 20 January at 5:45pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.

Prediction

Needing a win to effectively keep their knockout qualification hopes alive, Bodo/Glimt need to put together a robust display because they clearly have goals in them but their defence is their weakness, of which has been constantly exposed in this season’s league phase.

Man City meanwhile were just lacklustre with little creativity and unpredictability in their domestic league defeat at Manchester United, so a huge improvement is needed if they’re to have a top-eight finish in their hands going into the final matchday.

As much as I expect Bodo/Glimt to make life difficult for City, I really just don’t see the visitors losing this if they turn up with sharper intensity and fight.

Prediction: Bodo/Glimt 1-2 Man City

Result: Bodo/Glimt 3-1 Man City
