Leeds United continue their fight for Premier League survival against in-form Fulham at Elland Road.
Victory would see Leeds remain 16th in the table regardless of what Nottingham Forest achieve against Arsenal in the teatime kick-off, whilst Fulham can go as high as sixth with a win.
Team News
Leeds manager, Daniel Farke could hand new loan signing – Facundo Buonanotte his club debut.
Joe Rodon (fatigue), Jayden Bogle (calf) and Sebastian Bornauw (adductor) could be available but Dan James (hamstring) remains absent.
Fulham could welcome Kenny Tete and Joshua King back from hamstring and knee injuries respectively, subject to late fitness checks.
Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi (all international duty) and Rodrigo Muniz, (hamstring) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Leeds host Fulham at Elland Road on Saturday 17 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Leeds have won two of their last five Premier League meetings against Fulham (W2, L3).
- Fulham have won one of their last six visits to Leeds (W1, D3, L2).
- Ex Cottagers, Aleksandr Mitrovic and Bobby Reid scored in each of Fulham’s last two league trips to Leeds (W1, L1).
- Leeds have won three of four home games against London-based opposition this season (W3, L1).
- Fulham have kept two clean sheets in their last six league matches (W4, D2).
Prediction
With an eight-point gap to the relegation zone, Leeds can afford to relax a bit but they will need to be as clinical as they were in the second half of their FA Cup comeback at Derby because their first-half effort was pretty disappointing with a poor end product and lack of quality.
Fulham likewise had a similar issue against Middlesbrough in terms of poor first-half display yet clinical comeback but they were nevertheless dominant throughout, so I expect them to bring more of the same as rested regulars return to the starting line-up.
Elland Road though isn’t the best hunting ground for Fulham but given the current attacking form of both teams, I can see this being a decent entertaining battle with a point apiece come the final whistle.
Prediction: Leeds 1-1 Fulham
Result: Leeds 1-0 Fulham
