2025-26 Premier League: Week 18 – Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Crystal Palace return their focus to the Premier League as they host Crystal Palace in a festive London derby.

Victory could see Palace climb to sixth with a win if Sunderland lose at home to Leeds in the mid-afternoon kick-off, whilst Tottenham can climb to 11th with a win.

Team News

Chris Richards (foot) and Eddie Nketiah (knock) are doubts for Palace after their Carabao Cup exit at Arsenal on penalties.

Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad, Daniel Munoz (all knee), Daichi Kamada (hamstring), Ismaila Sarr (international duty), Rio Cardines (adductor) and Caleb Kporha (back) remain absent.

Tottenham will be without Xavi Simons and Cristian Romero after they were red carded in a 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool.

Kota Taki (foot), Destiny Udogie (hamstring), James Maddison (ACL), Dejan Kulusevski (knee) and Dominic Solanke (ankle) are still ruled out.

Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are both away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal and Mali respectively.

When is Kick-Off?

Palace host Tottenham at Selhurst Park on Sunday 28 December at 4:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Palace have won two of their last seven meetings against Tottenham (W2, L5).
  • Tottenham have avoided defeat in four of their last six visits to Palace (W2, D2, L2).
  • Palace are looking to claim three consecutive league victories against Tottenham for the first time in their history.
  • Palace won their only previous top-flight London derby at home this season (W1), which saw them beat Brentford 2-0 in November 2025.
  • No Tottenham player has been involved in more league goals this season than Richarlison (9), with the Brazilian having scored seven goals and created two assists in 17 league appearances.

Prediction

Having limped their way through the first half of their Carabao Cup Quarter-Final at Arsenal amidst a resilient defensive display, Palace did well to find enough attacking gears to scrap their way to a draw before unluckily losing out on penalties so will of been glad of the recovery time before this game.

Tottenham meanwhile were pretty much defensively outclassed by Liverpool amidst some poor disciplinary behaviour, so they need to now find a way to perform without Romero and Simons, yet their league form is inconsistent so it feels hard to call which team will turn up here.

I however do think that Palace will just have too much for Spurs if they can just polish up their final touches and deliver another tight defensive display.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Tottenham

Result: Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
