2025-26 Premier League: Week 16 – Chelsea vs Everton

Chelsea look to end their little rut in a tough Premier League test against Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Victory will lift Chelsea up to fourth until Sunday afternoon, whilst Everton can leapfrog their hosts and go fourth themselves with a win.

Team News

Wesley Fofana is a doubt for Chelsea after he suffered an eye injury during their 2-1 defeat at Atalanta in the Champions League.

Moises Caicedo is serving the last of his three-match domestic suspension.

Liam Delap (shoulder), Romeo Lavia (quad), Levi Colwill (ACL), Dario Essugo (thigh) and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension) are still sidelined.

Everton will welcome Idrissa Gueye and Tim Iroegbunam back from suspensions.

Michael Keane (unspecified), Merlin Rohl (hernia), Nathan Patterson (groin), Seamus Coleman and Jarrad Branthwaite (both hamstring) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Chelsea host Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 13 December at 3pm GMT, albeit untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Chelsea have lost one of their last six meetings against Everton (W3, D2, L1).
  • Everton are winless in their last 30 league visits to Chelsea since their 1-0 win in November 1994 (D13, L17).
  • As a manager, David Moyes has never won at Chelsea in the Premier League in 20 visits (D7, L13).
  • Trevoh Chalobah has produced more touches than any other Chelsea player in the Premier League this season, having created 1167 touches in 14 appearances.
  • Everton are looking to keep three clean sheets for the first time since April 2024 in the top-flight.

Prediction

Now winless in their last four matches in all competitions after they let a slender lead at Atalanta slip through small costly second-half defensive errors, Chelsea really need to knuckle down here and try to produce a more clinical display with consistency throughout.

Everton though are in solid form with one defeat in their last six games and absolutely tore Nottingham Forest’s defence apart in a clinical 3-0 home win, which will give them some confidence coming into their and David Moyes’ bogey away trip where they will need a strong defensive effort to get a result.

Although you would think that Chelsea will win this given their home form against Everton, I actually reckon that the Toffees can nick a draw here.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Everton

Result: Chelsea 2-0 Everton
