Accrington Stanley face Bromley in a stand-out match across this weekend’s Sky Bet League Two action.
Victory would lift Accrington Stanley as high as 14th if Fleetwood Tranmere and Tranmere lose elsewhere, whilst Bromley can move up to second with a win if Notts County and Swindon slip up elsewhere.
Team News
Accrington Stanley have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-0 win at Harrogate Town.
Freddie Sass (knee) is back training but isn’t expected to be available for selection, but Charlie Hall and Kelsey Mooney remain absent with unspecified injuries.
Bromley will welcome Ashley Charles back into midfield after he was suspended for their 3-1 comeback win at home to Crawley in midweek.
Carl Jenkinson (hip) remains sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Accrington Stanley host Bromley at WHAM Stadium on Saturday 13 December at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Accrington have lost each of their two previous EFL meetings against Bromley (L2).
- Bromley won 2-1 in their first EFL trip to Accrington Stanley in December 2024.
- Three of Bromley’s six goals against Accrington Stanley last season were scored by Michael Cheek.
- Accrington Stanley have dropped just two points in their last four home games in League Two (W3, D1).
- Cheek has scored in three of Bromley’s last four away games (W2, L2).
Prediction
Unbeaten in their last six league games and with just two league defeats at home all season, Accrington certainly will relish this test because they’re a tight solidly well-balanced team in terms of goals scored and conceded, with their direct high-intensity play likely to cause issues.
Bromley meanwhile clearly struggled with the weather conditions in the first half of their home win over Crawley because they were uncharacteristically timid which the visitors punished, yet they seemed to click more just before half time which gave them the platform to dominate the second half clinically.
Both teams though are at their best when not in possession so this is going to be a tactical battle with patience required, but if Bromley press on the front foot and be less wasteful then I can see them nicking this for the away crowd in fancy dress to mark their last festive away trip pre Christmas.
Prediction: Accrington Stanley 1-2 Bromley
Result: Accrington Stanley 0-1 Bromley
