Manchester United wrap up the latest Premier League matchweek at home to Bournemouth.
Victory would lift Man Utd up to fifth in the table, whilst Bournemouth can climb to 11th with a win.
Team News
Man Utd could be without Amad Diallo, Noussair Mazraoui and Bryan Mbeumo, as the trio are set to be released for international duty at Africa Cup of Nations tomorrow (15 December), which has led the club to request to Ivory Coast, Morocco and Cameroon that they join up on Tuesday instead.
Matthijs De Ligt (back), Harry Maguire (muscle) and Benjamin Sesko (knee) remain absent.
Bournemouth will welcome midfielder, Tyler Adams back from suspension.
Marcos Senesi (cramp) is a doubt but Lewis Cook (suspension), Ben Doak (hamstring), Ryan Christie, Veljko Milosavljevic (both knee) and Matai Akinmboni (muscle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Man Utd host Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday 15 December at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man Utd have lost just two of their last five meetings against Bournemouth (W3, D2, L2).
- Bournemouth have won two of their eight previous Premier League trips to Man Utd (W2, D1, L5).
- Man Utd lost their last two home games against Bournemouth by 3-0 results (L2).
- Mason Mount has scored in two of Utd’s last three matches (W2, D1).
- Tyler Adams has scored in two of Bournemouth’s last three away matches (L3).
Prediction
Having produced a clinical second half to comfortably beat Wolves 4-1 at Molineux, Man Utd ideally could do with Mbeumo and Diallo available such is their importance, but their absences could be a small blessing as it would give fringe players a chance to step up instead.
Utd however have just one defeat in their last nine matches and with Mount finding some form again, so he could well find himself under scrutiny if fans look to him to fill the void left by Mbeumo and Diallo, but Ruben Amorim might need to be more adaptable to extract performance without key players.
Bournemouth though just lacked the clinical touch in their goalless draw against Chelsea whilst a clean sheet would of done their defence some good, especially given their six-match winless streak coming into this game which they won comfortably in their last two trips.
Utd though are much stronger mentally than they were in those games and with more quality, so I can them possibly drawing if Mbeumo and Diallo can’t play otherwise I do think that Utd should win this if the latter pair are available.
Prediction: Man Utd 2-1 Bournemouth
Result: Man Utd 4-4 Bournemouth
