Relegation-battling Wolves face a tricky test against Manchester United at Molineux.
Wolves will stay bottom regardless of the result but can move to within ten points of safety with victory, whilst Man Utd can climb to sixth with a win.
Team News
Marshall Munetsi is ruled out for Wolves after he suffered a calf injury during their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest.
Ladislav Krejci (knee) won’t be rushed despite returning to training but Joao Gomes is suspended.
Fernando Lopez (adductor), Daniel Bentley (ankle), Leon Chiwone (ACL) and Rodrigo Gomes (groin) remain ruled out.
Man Utd could be without Diogo Dalot due to a knock suffered in their 1-1 draw against West Ham.
Matthijs De Ligt (knock) missed that game and faces a late fitness check but Harry Maguire (muscle) and Benjamin Sesko (knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Wolves host Man Utd at Molineux on Monday 8 December at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wolves have won two of their last six meetings against Man Utd (W2, L4).
- Man Utd have lost one of their last six league visits to Wolves (W4, D1, L1).
- Wolves are looking to win three consecutive games against Man Utd for the first time since September 1979 to August 1980.
- Hugo Bueno has played more dead-ball passes than any other Wolves outfield player this season (109).
- Bruno Fernandes has been involved in more league goals than any other Man Utd player this season, having produced two goals and five assists in 14 appearances.
Prediction
Having taken a huge step forward in terms of their attacking quality in a narrow defeat at Aston Villa, Wolves took a step back in their lacklustre loss at home to Forest so I would like to see them find a way to return to the performance they put in at Villa, otherwise this could be a difficult game.
Man Utd meanwhile just continue to be inconsistent because after their comeback win at Crystal Palace, they returned to their shaky unpredictable quality against West Ham and conceded a poor equaliser when should of shut up shop defensively once ahead.
It therefore feels tough to predict what to expect here from both teams but Utd need to make this game count because I can see them struggling once Amad Diallo, Noussair Mazraoui and Bryan Mbeumo head to the Africa Cup of Nations, given their importance in quality to the team.
Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Man Utd
Result: Wolves 1-4 Man Utd
