Southampton have sacked Will Still as manager after a slump in form in the 2025-26 Sky Bet Championship.
Still took charge in late June and oversaw two wins, six draws and five defeats in 13 league matches, although they sit 21st and three points above the relegation zone after a winless five-match run in which they claimed just two points.
Southampton have now decided to relieve Still of his duties amidst pressure from fans, with Ruben Martinez, Clement Lemaitre and Carl Martin too released from their positions.
Southampton’s Technical Director, Johannes Spors praised Still for his efforts to try and reverse the Saints’ recent form but felt that a change was needed now if they’re to challenge for promotion.
“Will is a great person who gave everything to try and improve performances and results.
“Ultimately that process has taken longer than any of us would have liked. By making a change now we believe it gives us the best chance of turning things around this season and climbing back up the league table.
“I would like to thank Will, Rubén, Clément and Carl for their efforts and wish them well for the future.”
Southampton’s Under-21s manager, Tonda Eckert has been appointed interim manager ahead of the senior team’s trip to QPR on Wednesday 5 November.
