2025-26 Premier League: Week 10 – Sunderland vs Everton

Sunderland look to continue their top-four push against Everton in a Premier League encounter on Wearside.

Victory would lift Sunderland up to second in the table, whilst Everton can climb to 12th with a win.

Team News

Simon Adingra could return for Sunderland after he missed their 2-1 win at Chelsea with a hamstring injury.

Omar Alderete (concussion) and Dan Neil (head) could both be available for selection subject to late fitness checks.

Habib Diarra (groin), Aji Alese (shoulder), Leo Hjelde (Achilles), Romaine Mundle (hamstring) and Dennis Cirkin (wrist) are still sidelined.

Everton have no fresh injury concerns to report as Nathan Patterson (groin) and Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Sunderland host Everton at Stadium of Light on Monday 3 November at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Sunderland have lost three of their last six league meetings against Everton (W2, D1, L3).
  • Everton have avoided defeat in six of their last eight visits to Sunderland (W2, D4, L2)
  • Ex Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku scored four goals in the Toffees’ last two league meetings against Sunderland.
  • Wilson Isidor has scored in three of Sunderland’s four league matches at home this season (W3, D1).
  • Everton have conceded twice in their last three away games in the top flight (W1, L2).

Prediction

With not many holding much hope for Sunderland away at Chelsea, well they definitely surprised with how they defensively frustrated the Blues yet were still brave enough to attack in a clinical win, which they now need to use as motivation to keep their home form going.

Everton meanwhile might have a strong recent away record at Sunderland but that was nine seasons ago and a lot has changed, particularly for the Toffees who need to improve their defensive play on the road but their attack needs to improve after a lacklustre home loss to Tottenham.

I however do think that Sunderland’s intensity will be too much for Everton’s defence on current performance levels but David Moyes’ Toffees will give them a good test.

Prediction: Sunderland 2-1 Everton

Result: Sunderland 1-1 Everton
