F1 have announced six sprint race weekends for the 2026 season.

As in 2024 and 2025, China will host the opening sprint weekend of the season across 13-15 March which marks the second round of the season.

May will see a double bill of sprint race weekends as Miami will once again play host to the format for the third consecutive season on weekend of 1-3 May.

Canada will then host their first-ever sprint weekend across the weekend of 22-24 May, having previously not been selected to host the sprint format since its introduction in 2021.

The home of the first-ever F1 sprint race in 2021 will once again hold a sprint race weekend with Silverstone selected to host the fourth sprint of the season on weekend of 3-5 July.

2026 sees the final Dutch Grand Prix take place after the race organisers decided to leave F1 and as part of it’s last race weekend on the F1 calendar, Zandvoort will play host to the penultimate sprint of the season on weekend of 21-23 August.

The final sprint race of 2026 season will take place at Singapore on weekend of 9-11 October, which will mark the first time that the Marina Bay Street Circuit will have a sprint race.

F1 CEO and President, Stefano Domenicali explained that the decision to introduce three new sprint venues is designed to create additional drama on top of new regulations.

“The 2026 season will usher in a new era of regulations, so having three new Sprint venues will only add to the drama on track.”

FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem added: “As we look ahead to a landmark 2026 season featuring a new generation of cars and regulations, I’m pleased to see the Sprint evolving alongside our broader ambitions for the sport.

“The inclusion of new venues alongside returning favourites reflects the continued enthusiasm from promoters, teams and fans alike. We will continue to work closely with FOM, the teams, our officials, and the drivers to ensure the Sprint format enhances the championship.”
