Defender, James Hill has signed a new four-year contract at Bournemouth until June 2029.

Hill arrived at the Vitality Stadium from Fleetwood Town in January 2022 and has since made 28 appearances in all competitions, amidst loan stints at Hearts and Blackburn Rovers in recent seasons.

The 23 year-old was “absolutely buzzing” to sign a new contract at a club which he feels is now “home.”

“Ever since coming to the club when I was 19 years of age, I’ve felt that this place was home.

“It’s not just the players inside the club that have made me want to stay, but the fans as well, I’ve felt really welcomed since the first day I stepped through the door.

“I’m happy to continue and I can’t wait to get started for the next four years.”

Hill proceeded to speak fondly of his development throughout his time so far at the Cherries and believes that the young squad has high belief in their ability to improve as a team.

“It’s really exciting here. Every day we’re developing, learning and it’s such a young and hungry group that, going into every game, there’s a possibility to win.

“We go into every game thinking that we can win and that mindset in the changing room in terms of wanting to get better and wanting to push as a group is really exciting.”

Bournemouth’s Head of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto added: “I’m really pleased for James and he deserves the new contract for everything he puts into the club. His energy in and around the building is infectious and we’re thrilled he’s committed his future to us.

“He is still young and has great potential, as we’ve seen over the years and from his achievements in the England youth setup. We’re looking forward to helping him fulfil that potential here at AFC Bournemouth.”
