PSG meet Tottenham Hotspur in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup in Udine, Italy.
PSG qualified for this showpiece by winning last season’s UEFA Champions League, whereas Tottenham won the Europa League title to secure their spot in this one-off tie.
Team News
Gianluigi Donnarumma has been left out of PSG’s squad amidst rumours around his future at the club.
Tottenham will have Destiny Udogie available following his recovery from a knee injury in pre-season.
Dominic Solanke (ankle) is also included in the travelling squad but Radu Dragusin, James Maddison (both ACL), Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil (both knee), Manor Solomon (calf) and Kota Takai (foot) are ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
PSG meet Tottenham at Stadio Friuli, Udine, Italy, on Wednesday 13 August at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time), live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is PSG’s first-ever competitive meeting against Tottenham in all competitions.
- Tottenham are meeting PSG for the first time on neutral territory in all competitions.
- PSG have won four of their last seven meetings against English opposition in all competitions (W4, L3).
- Tottenham have kept three clean sheets in pre-season (W2, D3, L1).
Prediction
Despite not having much pre-season preparation due to their run to the FIFA Club World Cup Final in July, PSG nevertheless will be favourites with their exciting high-intensity play which has troubled many teams aside from Chelsea who won that final with direct aggressive play.
Tottenham meanwhile are in a period of transition and given that they already have a mini injury crisis on top of coming into this game off the back of a 4-0 defeat at Bayern Munich, this does feel like a difficult ask for a team under a new manager lacking this sort of European competition experience.
As much as it would be a good surprise to see Tottenham somehow win this, I just can’t see PSG losing this because they look much better in every area and only a lack of pre-season could be their downfall here.
Prediction: PSG 3-0 Tottenham
Result: PSG 2-2 Tottenham (PSG win 4-3 on penalties)
