Blackpool have signed right-back, Danny Imray from Crystal Palace on a season-long loan for 2025-26 season.
Imray had attracted interest from a host of EFL clubs this summer after his impressive loan stint at last season’s newcomers, Bromley where he impressed on the right flank with two goals and five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
Blackpool eventually saw off tough competition to sign the 21-year-old on a season-long loan as Imray looks to test himself in League One for the first time in his career, where he is set to face teams like Bolton and Huddersfield who were also keen to land the talented right-back.
Imray described the move as “a privilege” and can’t wait to get the season underway following conversations with the club.
“I’ve spoken to a few people about the Club and they all had nothing but positive things to say. It’s a massive Club and one with a big ambition. To play under the gaffer here was also a big draw, so I cannot wait to start and play in front of the supporters.”
Head Coach, Steve Bruce added: “We are pleased to welcome Danny to Bloomfield Road. He has real potential which he has demonstrated on a consistent basis in League Two last season, and we believe he has the attributes to make the step up to the next level.
“We look forward to working with him and watching him progress in tangerine.”
Imray began his career at Chelmsford City where he made his debut in February 2020 and went on to make 19 total appearances before he joined Palace in January 2021, but returned a further year later on loan which saw him produce one goal in 14 appearances.
After progressing through Palace’s academy, Imray enjoyed a successful season-long loan at League Two’s Bromley where he became a fan-favourite with his attacking performances at right-back, amidst spells as a right winger, defensive or attacking midfielder such was his versatility.
