Tottenham Hotspur look to stop their recent rut against relegation-battling West Ham in a Premier League clash between the London rivals.
Victory would lift Tottenham as high as 11th in the table, whilst West Ham will remain 18th in the table with a win.
Team News
Conor Gallagher could make his debut for Tottenham following his move from Atletico Madrid.
Richarlison however is ruled out after he suffered a hamstring injury in their FA Cup third-round exit at home against Aston Villa.
Yves Bissouma (international duty) and Cristian Romero (suspension) are both available for selection
Lucas Bergvall (muscle) is a doubt for selection and faces a late fitness check.
Rodrigo Bentancur (hamstring), Pape Matar Sarr (international duty), Mohammed Kudus (quad), James Maddison (ACL) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) are still ruled out.
West Ham will hand Konstantinos Mavropanos (neck), Lucas Paqueta (back) and Mateus Fernandes (knock) late fitness tests.
El Hadji Malick Diouf (international duty) and Lukasz Fabianski (back) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host West Ham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 17 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have lost one of their last eight league meetings against West Ham (W4, D3, L1).
- West Ham have claimed four points across two of their last six league visits to Tottenham (W1, D1, L4).
- Tottenham haven’t kept consecutive league sheets against West Ham since 2008-09 season.
- Spurs have won just one of their last six league matches (W1, D2, L3).
- West Ham lost their only previous away London derby this season by a 2-0 result at Arsenal in October 2025.
Prediction
Having produced two contrastable halves in their FA Cup exit against Villa, Tottenham must bring their fierce attacking second-half quality rather than their first-half passive lacklustre effort because this is a winnable tie if they turn up with the right intensity and press to trouble West Ham’s weak defence.
Speaking of the Hammers, they will be glad that new signing, Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos has already made an impact in their extra-time win over QPR, because their performance otherwise was poor at times but their response to being pegged back is a small positive for Nuno Espirito Santo.
I however just don’t see Tottenham losing this because although both teams aren’t in the best places quality wise, I do think that Spurs have more talent to grind out three points.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 West Ham
Result: Tottenham 1-2 West Ham
