F1 have announced plans for 2026 pre-season testing and a date tweak for Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Pre-season testing will commence with a private test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 26 – 30 January, before the second and third tests take place at Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain on 11-13 and 18-20 February.

The decision to hold three pre-season tests comes as F1 gears up for a new era of technical regulations which has necessitated the need for two additional tests, in order to allow teams maximum preparation time on track before the season starts in Melbourne, Australia on 6 March.

F1 and FIA officials have also agreed to tweak the dates of the 2026 Azerbaijan GP weekend which was set to run from 25-27 September in its traditional Friday – Sunday scheduling.

The event will however now be brought forward a day and instead run from 24 – 26 September due to 27 September being a national holiday in Azerbaijan, which led the race organisers and Azerbaijan’s government stakeholders to request the date tweak which had been granted.

Next year’s calendar will consequently have two Thursday to Saturday events, with the second being Las Vegas GP which is scheduled for 19 – 21 November.
