Wrexham forward, Paul Mullin has made a loan switch to League One’s Wigan Athletic for 2025-26 season.

Mullins has spent the last four years at Wrexham during which he achieved three consecutive promotions from National League to Championship in last three seasons.

The 30-year-old forward however fell out of favour with manager, Phil Parkinson last season as he managed just five goals in 32 appearances across all competitions, which led the club to sanction his move back down to League One on loan at Wigan for the new season.

Speaking about his move to Wigan, Mullin said that he is “excited” to be embarking on a new chapter and is hopeful that he can take manager, Ryan Lowe’s “trust into the season and make it a really successful one.”

Mullin also vowed to give his absolute effort for Wigan this coming season despite having scored 110 goals in the last four seasons for Wrexham.

“As a player, I give absolutely everything and work as hard as I can.
“I’ve scored a lot of goals over the last few years, but more than anything, I give my absolute all for the Club that I’m playing for, and I’m going to do that again with Wigan.”

Lowe added that he is “delighted” to sign “a proven goal scorer” in Mullin who knows how to achieve promotion.

“He has won promotion in his last three seasons with Wrexham AFC and will add firepower, know-how and experience to the group, which is really important.

“He is here because he is hungry to score more goals, win games and contribute to Wigan Athletic Football Club.”

Wrexham boss, Parkinson wishes Mullin well for his loan move as he explained that he hopes the loan will enable the forward to rediscover regular football.

“I’d like to wish Paul all the best for his loan move.

“It’s a good opportunity for him to get back to playing regular first-team football and I’m sure he’s going to be a great signing for Wigan Athletic.”
