Thomas Tuchel has shaken up his England squad selection for June’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Andorra and friendly against Senegal.
In a surprise move, Tuchel rang the changes up front with Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden and Dominic Solanke dropped alongside the injured Marcus Rashford.
Bukayo Saka has returned after he missed the international fixtures against Albania and Latvia in March due to injury, whilst Noni Madueke, Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins have been recalled after varying degrees of absences.
Marc Guehi, Tino Livramento and Jarell Quansah have been omitted in defence as Trent Alexander-Arnold returns to the fold, whilst Trevoh Chalobah has received his maiden senior call-up after an impressive season initially on loan at Crystal Palace then back at Chelsea in recent months.
Livramento however has been named in the Under-21s squad for a pre U21s-Euro training camp, alongside Adam Wharton who has too featured in the senior squad in the past year.
Crystal Palace’s FA Cup-winning goalkeeper, Dean Henderson has retained his spot in the goalkeeping selection alongside Everton and England’s number one choice, Jordan Pickford, whilst Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale has been dropped as James Trafford has kept his spot.
Conor Gallagher is back in midfield after a quietly solid season for Atletico Madrid.
England will play Andorra on neutral territory at RCDE Stadium, Barcelona, Spain, on Saturday 7 June at 6pm CEST (5pm UK Time), in a top against bottom clash in Qualifying Group K.
Tuchel’s Three Lions then host Senegal in a friendly on Tuesday 10 June at the City Ground, Nottingham at 7:45pm, with both matches broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
