2024-25 Premier League: Week 36 – Forest vs Leicester

Nottingham Forest seek to boost their top-five ambitions against relegated Leicester in a huge Premier League clash.

Victory could lift Forest as high as fifth should Newcastle’s clash against Chelsea not end in a draw, whilst Leicester can climb to third-bottom with a win.

Team News

Murillo is a doubt for Forest after he suffered a hamstring injury in their 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (hamstring) and Eric da Silva Moreira (knock) remain absent.

Leicester could welcome Facundo Buonanotte back into contention after he missed their win over Southampton due to concussion.

Mads Hermansen (groin), Ricardo Pereira, Bobby Reid, Stephy Mavididi (all muscle), Harry Winks (personal) and Abdul Fatawu (ACL) remains ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Forest host Leicester at the City Ground on Sunday 11 May at 2:15pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Having produced an improved performance in their 1-1 draw at Palace who haven’t exactly been their strongest away opposition in the Premier League, Forest can take heart from their intensity and ability to come from behind but they now need to find their goalscoring form at home again to stay in the top-five race.

Leicester meanwhile were absolutely impressive in how they dominated Southampton with two clinical first-half goals and maintained the pressure throughout, but this is a tougher test of whether that performance was an one-off or perhaps start of something that they can build on after they go down.

My instinct though is that it might of simply been down to the weak quality that Southampton offered and Leicester will get bit of a rude awaking, unless they can score first then dig in at a ground where they’re yet to take a Premier League win.

Prediction: Forest 2-1 Leicester

Result: Forest 2-2 Leicester
