Wolves look to continue their strong Premier League form against top-eight hunting Brighton at Molineux.
Victory will see Wolves remain 13th in the table, whilst Wolves can go eighth with a win if Brentford fail to match their result.
Team News
Jorgen Strand Larsen could return for Wolves after he missed their 1-0 defeat at Manchester City due to a groin injury.
Hwang Hee-Chan (muscle) is a doubt but Sam Johnstone (unspecified), Yerson Mosquera (knee), Leon Chiwone, Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (all ACL) remain sidelined.
Brighton will be without Solly March for rest of season due to a minor knee issue that required surgery.
Kaoru Mitoma (heel) is available but Joao Pedro (suspension), Georginio Rutter (ankle), Ferdi Kadioglu (toe) and James Milner (hamstring) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Wolves host Brighton at Molineux on Saturday 10 May at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wolves are winless in their last six meetings against Brighton (D2, L4).
- Brighton have lost just one of their six previous Premier League visits to Wolves (W3, D2, L1).
- Kaoru Mitoma has scored in each of Brighton’s last two visits to Wolves (W2).
- Jorgen Strand Larsen has scored in each of Wolves’ last three home games (W3).
- Brighton have won just one of their last five away matches in the top flight (W1, D1, L3)
Prediction
Although their six-match winning run ended at Man City, Wolves were pretty unlucky to not at least snatch a draw for all of their attacking efforts which was just let down by a weak final touch but I do expect them to bounce back here if bring the same spirit and sharper power.
Brighton meanwhile were lucky that VAR helped them out for much of the second half of their 1-1 draw against Newcastle amidst some sluggishly inaccurate final touches, but a point apiece was a fair outcome given that they often lacked the powerful shot to build on their initial lead so more composure is needed here.
Another thing that will weigh on Brighton’s mind is that this is their last winnable game of the season with Liverpool and Tottenham to come – although Spurs will probably field a weak side anyway, so I expect them to try and get an early goal and kick on but Wolves should be good for a draw if can make tiny improvements.
Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Brighton
Result: Wolves 0-2 Brighton
