With the 2024-25 season now completed, EFL have officially confirmed full details of the promotion play-offs schedule.
Sheffield United, Sunderland, Coventry and Bristol City have qualified for the Championship Play-Offs, with Bristol City kicking off the action on Thursday 8 May against Sheffield Utd at Ashton Gate, before Chris Wilder’s Blades host the return leg on Monday 12 May.
Coventry host Sunderland at CBS Arena on Friday 9 May before visiting Wearside in the second leg on Tuesday 13 May, with all four legs of the Championship play-off semi-finals kicking off at 8pm BST on those dates.
A kick-off time for the Championship Play-Off Final will be confirmed following discussion with Met Police and Brent Council once the semi-finals are completed, although the match will definitely take place on Saturday 24 May.
Across in League One, Stockport kick off the Third Division’s play-offs with a trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday 10 May at 12:30pm, before hosting the second leg at Edgeley Park on Wednesday 14 May at 8pm.
Wycombe’s home leg against Charlton was initially scheduled for the same date but has switched to 6:30pm on Sunday 11 May, due to Notts County’s first leg of their League Two play-off semi-final against AFC Wimbledon needing to be played on 10 May at 8pm on police advice.
Nathan Jones’ Charlton will then host Wycombe in the return leg at The Valley on Thursday 15 May at 8pm.
The two winners of the League One play-off semi-finals will then meet on Sunday 25 May at 1pm.
In League Two, both semi-final first-legs were scheduled for Sunday 11 May prior to Notts County’s switch to 10 May on police advice – owing to Nottingham Forest being at home on 11 May at 2:15pm with local police prohibiting both clubs at home on the same date despite a reasonable gap in kick-off times.
AFC Wimbledon will then host the Magpies at Cherry Red Records Stadium in the return leg on Saturday 17 May at 12:30pm to round out this season’s EFL play-off semi-final stage.
Across in the other League Two play-off semi-final, Chesterfield will host Walsall on Sunday 11 May at 3:30pm before the Saddlers entertain Paul Cook’s Spireites in the return leg on Friday 16 May at 8pm.
Both winners of the League Two play-off semi-finals will meet in the 2024-25 curtain-closing season finale on Monday 26 May at 3pm.
All three play-off finals will be played at Wembley Stadium, London.
