Ipswich meet Wolves in a must-win showdown in the race for Premier League survival.
Victory would see third-bottom Ipswich move to within six points of Wolves who occupy the final safety spot, whilst Wolves can move 12 points clear of their hosts with a win.
Team News
Ipswich will be without Omari Hutchinson (knock) and Leif Davis (leg) after the pair missed their 2-1 win at Bournemouth in midweek.
Arijanet Muric (shoulder), Sammie Szmodics (ankle), Wes Burns (ACL) and Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) remain ruled out.
Wolves have no fresh injury or suspensions to report following their 1-0 home win over West Ham in midweek.
Matheus Cunha (suspension), Yerson Mosquera (knee), Leon Chiwone, Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (all ACL) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Ipswich host Wolves at Portman Road on Saturday 5 April at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Ipswich lost their only previous Premier League meeting to Wolves by a 2-1 away result in December 2024.
- Wolves are making their first Premier League trip to Ipswich.
- Both Ipswich and Wolves scored in three of their last five meetings at Portman Road in all competitions.
- Ipswich are winless in their last five home games in the top-flight (L5).
- Wolves are looking to claim three consecutive away wins in the Premier League for the first time since January – February 2022.
Prediction
Following their clinically-executed shock win at Bournemouth, Ipswich now must bring that same fighting spirit and quality because a win here could spark a potential great escape otherwise they will be all be mathematically down barring a miracle.
Wolves though weren’t exactly at their best in a scrappy but pretty deserved clinical win over West Ham so they must now step up their intensity, especially as this is a massive opportunity to all but mathematically secure survival and build a 12-point gap to the drop.
I however do think that Ipswich will have something in them to snatch victory if play like they’ve done in their last two games but stay as tight defensively as they did at Bournemouth, although Wolves won’t make this easy.
Prediction: Ipswich 2-1 Wolves
Result: Ipswich 1-2 Wolves
