Everton host title-chasing Arsenal at Goodison Park in a Premier League encounter.
Victory by a two-goal margin or more would see Everton climb to 13th, whilst Arsenal can reduce their title deficit to nine points with a win.
Team News
Everton have no fresh injury concerns to report following their midweek Merseyside derby defeat at Liverpool.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (hamstring), Iliman Ndiaye, Dwight McNeil (both knee) and Orel Mangala (ACL) remain absent.
Arsenal will be without defender, Gabriel for rest of season after he suffered a hamstring injury in their 2-1 midweek win over Fulham.
Ben White and Jurrien Timber are both doubts with knee injuries.
Kai Havertz (hamstring), Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu (all knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Everton host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday 5 April at 12:30pm BST, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Everton have won one of their last six meetings against Arsenal (W1, D1, L4).
- Arsenal have won one of their last six trips to Everton (W1, D1, L4).
- Everton have avoided defeat in two of their three most recent Saturday 12:30pm kick-offs against Arsenal (W1, D1, L1).
- David Moyes’ Toffees have kept just one clean sheet in their last five league games at home (W2, D3).
- Arsenal have managed clean sheets in three of their last four away matches in the top-flight (W2, D2).
Prediction
Having seen their stubborn defensive efforts at Liverpool come to nothing through one small costly marking error, Everton surely will be fired up to try and get a positive result here but I do wonder just how much energy their defensive exploits has sucked out of them.
Arsenal meanwhile produced a clinical performance to beat Fulham despite a late defensive error but they now need to keep producing more of the same and hope Liverpool slip up, as they really need to keep winning just to maintain their pressure in the title race.
Goodison Park though hasn’t exactly been Arsenal’s favourite away grounds but given that this is their final trip to the iconic stadium, I can see the Gunners scraping a win even if they must be patient initially.
Prediction: Everton 0-1 Arsenal
Result: Everton 1-1 Arsenal
