Ian Holloway has extended his stay as Swindon Town manager until June 2028.
Holloway took charge of Swindon in late October 2024 with the club battling relegation but he has since led the team to 15th in League Two, during which they have earned 36 points in 24 league games under his watch.
Swindon consequently have swooped to tie the iconic manager down to a new three-year contract until June 2028, with Holloway happy to commit his future to the Robins for three more years.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed a new contract at the club. This club is much more than a project, the building of a club, the rebuilding of a club, and that’s how I look at it, and I’m honoured to be trusted with that.”
“Everything has connected me with the club since I arrived in October, the community that we have here at Swindon, and Christmas really opened my eyes to how fantastic this club can be.
“Obviously, the area, what I want the lads to give back, and we will ensure that our fanbase grows and our fans do more to meet and connect with our supporters, and it’s really important that they buy into why they are here and why it’s so important.”
Chairman, Clem Morfuni and Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Hall are “delighted” to retain Holloway following the team’s progress since his arrival last autumn.
“Ian has revitalised the squad since his arrival back in October and moved the team in the correct direction.”
Morfuni and Hall proceeded to reflect on the team’s improvement under Holloway and is keen to see more long-term growth under the ex Crystal Palace boss.
“We acknowledge that our start to the season left us in an extremely difficult position, even when Ian took over. However, the progress we’ve made in the short term under his leadership proves that he is the correct Manager to long-term build our future with.
“We really believe in the culture that Ian is creating and building here at the club, and together, collectively, we can grow to where we both want the club to be.”
