2024-25 Premier League: Week 19 – Leicester vs Man City

Relegation-battling Leicester host Manchester City at King Power Stadium.

Victory will lift Leicester out of the relegation zone if Wolves lose elsewhere, whilst Man City can go fifth if Bournemouth lose at Fulham.

Team News

Jordan Ayew is suspended for Leicester following his fifth booking of the season in a 3-1 loss at Liverpool.

Mads Hermansen (groin), Kasey McAteer, Jamie Vardy (both knock) and Wout Faes (unspecified) face fitness checks.

Wilfried Ndidi (hamstring), Abdul Fatawu (ACL) and Ricardo Pereira (muscle) remain absent.

Man City could be without Jack Grealish after he missed their 1-1 draw against Everton with a muscle injury.

Ederson, Kyle Walker (both illness) and Matheus Nunes (knock) could return.

Ruben Dias (muscle), John Stones (foot), Oscar Bobb (leg) and Rodri (knee) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Leicester host Man City at King Power Stadium on Sunday 29 December at 2:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Although defeat at Liverpool was always likely, Leicester certainly gave a solid account defensively but were just outclassed amidst wasted chances of their own, so I would like to see those positives built upon here.

Man City just seem to be continuing their downward spiral because despite a bright start, they lacked composure and accuracy in their end product against a resilient Everton defence then creativity in the second half.

There is work to do for both teams coming into this game but I do feel that City should win this game, otherwise they are in a right scrap for just a top-four finish at best.

Prediction: Leicester 1-2 Man City

Result: Leicester 0-2 Man City
