2024-25 Sky Bet League Two: Week 20 – Bromley vs Port Vale

Bromley host Port Vale at Hayes Lane in a huge League Two fixture.

Victory could see Bromley climb as high as tenth depending on results elsewhere, whilst Port Vale can go top with a win if Walsall loses elsewhere.

Team News

Ben Thompson is available for Bromley after he was suspended for their 2-1 win at Accrington Stanley.

Port Vale could be without Benicio Baker-Boaitey due to a knock.

Ben Garrity, Jayden Stockley and George Byers are all doubts as they continue to recover from unspecified injuries.

When is Kick-Off?

Bromley face Port Vale at Hayes Lane on Saturday 14 December at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Bromley’s first-ever competitive meeting against Port Vale.
  • Port Vale are making their first-ever competitive visit to Bromley at Hayes Lane.
  • Bromley have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight league matches at home (W1, D4, L3).
  • Port Vale have won one of their last 17 EFL visits to London-based opposition (W1, D7, L9)

Prediction

Sat firmly mid-table with just seven points off the last play-off spot and one loss in their last 11 league games, Bromley have plenty of reasons to be positive coming into this game and have already taken points off two of the current top three clubs.

Clean sheets though is their Achilles heel but with Hayes Lane set to be bouncing following Anthony Serafino’s investment, the players now need to use that positivity and try to cut out their defensive sloppiness.

Port Vale though have a similar habit of grinding out results at the minute but with one win in five and physicality issues up front in terms of power, they will certainly try not to make this easy if want to avoid consecutive defeats for first time since August.

I am therefore anticipating quite a difficult battle especially from set-pieces but if Bromley keep their composure, they might just extend their winning run.

Prediction: Bromley 2-1 Port Vale

Result: Bromley 0-0 Port Vale
