Stat Attack
- England have won five previous meetings against Switzerland this century (W5).
- Switzerland lost their only previous visit to England by a 2-0 result in September 2010.
- England have won each of their last two meetings against Switzerland by 4-0 results.
- Failure to score would see England record just two consecutive blanks for just the second time under Sarina Wiegman.
- Switzerland have kept clean sheets in two of their three away games in 2024.
Prediction
Having dug deep against the USA for a solid goalless draw. England now need to turn on their attacking quality amidst squad rotation and continue to experiment whilst showcasing their usual flair.
Switzerland meanwhile will eager to bounce back from a brutal defeat to Germany with a focus on basic defending, whilst they do have strong attacking threats who can trouble the Lionesses’ defence.
The Swiss though have never beaten England who should really finish 2024 on a high with a win, especially with some fresh players coming into the starting line-up.
Prediction: England 2-0 Switzerland
Result: England 1-0 Switzerland
