South Africa have no fresh injury concerns following their 5-0 loss to Denmark on Friday evening.
When is Kick-Off?
England host South Africa at CBS Arena, Coventry, on Tuesday 29 October at 7:45pm GMT, live on ITV4 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- England have won each of their two previous meetings against South Africa in all competitions (W2), which came in 2009 & 10 Cyprus Cup.
- South Africa are playing away to England on English soil for the first time.
- England have scored seven goals in their two previous meetings against South Africa without conceding.
- Georgia Stanway has scored three goals in England’s last two home games.
- South Africa have conceded six goals in their last two away games (L2).
Prediction
After their defensive disaster against Germany in an equally open thriller, England now need to try and find a way to rebuild a solid defence despite their superb attacking energy, so I do expect serious changes and tactical tweaks at the back.
South Africa meanwhile were just as bad defensively away to Denmark but their attack failed to mount much response, so there is a need for improvement here especially with their attacking talent capable of goals.
I however do expect a much more solid England to get the job done if can keep their attacking intensity, but add extra solidness at the back against a decent yet leaky South Africa.
Prediction: England 2-0 South Africa
Result: England 2-1 South Africa
