McLaren junior, Ugo Ugochukwu has graduated to F3 for 2025 season with PREMA.

Ugochukwu’s move comes after one season in FRECA for the Italian outfit where he lies in 14th position in the drivers’ standings ahead of the final round, with a single podium finish which came in Race Two in Budapest, Hungary.

Feeling “really happy” to step up to F3, Ugochukwu spoke of his pride at staying with PREMA next season, having also raced for the team in F4 UAE, Italian F4 and Euro 4 in 2023, which saw him crowned champion in the latter category.

“Working with all the people here is special, the chemistry is excellent and it makes the work really enjoyable on and off the track.

“We have had two positive seasons together and I’m looking forward to building on that and I’m sure we will have a good year.”

PREMA Team Principal, Rene Rosin welcomed McLaren’s decision to allow Ugochukwu to make the step up to F3 with the team, marking their third season together as F3 introduces a new car for the fresh campaign.

“We enjoyed working with Ugo in the last two years from Formula 4 to Formula Regional, and we think he has great potential.

“We are convinced that he will be a great fit for FIA Formula 3 next year in terms of approach and driving style.

“We will soon start preparations and we look forward to helping him make a smooth and successful transition to the new series.”

The 17 year-old five-time champion across various karting levels began his single-seater in 2022, which saw him finish third in British F4 with two victories, whilst he also drove six races in ADAC F4 and Italian F4.
