EFL have announced the draw details for the third round of 2024-25 Carabao Cup.
The third round will see the seven teams qualified for UEFA competitions enter the competition, consisting of reigning champions – Liverpool plus runners-up, Chelsea and Premier League holders – Manchester City to name just three clubs.
Arsenal, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United also will enter at this stage.
The third round though will clash with UEFA Champions League and Europa League fixtures, following a controversial format change to the latter competitions.
Arsenal, Villa, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Tottenham consequently will be put in Bowl 1 to endure no ties being drawn between those six clubs, whilst the 26 remaining teams will go into Bowl 2.
The draw will take place upon the conclusion of Nottingham Forest’s second round tie against Newcastle live on Sky Sports tonight (28 August).
There however will be a pre-match draw to determine the home and away positioning of those in Bowl 1, with the first six ties of the main draw alternating between both bowls before the remainder of the ties are drawn from Bowl 2.
