Fulham have signed defender, Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace for £30m plus add-ons.
Andersen previously spent 2020-21 season on loan at Craven Cottage from Lyon in which he scored one goal in 31 appearances.
He eventually joined Palace in summer 2021 and after three years at Selhurst Park, he has returned to Fulham in a £30m deal plus add-ons.
Speaking to FFCtv about his move, Andersen is happy to return and reunite with many teammates from his first spell at the club.
“It’s really nice to be here. Feels a little bit like coming home, so it’s a good feeling.
“Of course, I know the Club, I know how Fulham are playing, I know many players, I know some staff, so I didn’t need anyone to convince me because I knew a lot of things already.
“I had some good talks with the Manager. I know the playing style he likes to play, so it was just a decision I needed to make myself, with my wife and family, and see what’s the best for me, and I think this is a good step for my career.”
Vice-Chairman and Director of Football Operations, Tony Khan added: “I’m thrilled to welcome Joachim Andersen back to Fulham, but this time as a permanent move!
“Joachim is a formidable and experienced defender, he proved to be a steady leader for us during his previous loan, and I know that he’s excited to join us again!”
Andersen will wear the number five shirt and has signed a five-year contract until June 2029 with option for a further season.
The 28 year-old began his senior career at Twente where he scored four goals in 50 appearances, which was followed by spells with Sampdoria and Lyon in which he scored twice in 77 total appearances.
During his time at Palace, Andersen managed three goals in 112 appearances – of which his final appearance came against Fulham’s West London rivals, Brentford last weekend in a 2-1 away loss.
Andersen represents Denmark at international level and has 36 senior caps in total.
