Defender, Cody Drameh has joined Hull City on a free transfer.

Drameh’s move comes after he only made two senior appearances for Leeds last season – having graduated through their academy only to make 10 first-team appearances across the three recent seasons.

The 22 year-old however enjoyed productive loan stints at Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City in the last three seasons, with 71 total appearances across his three loan spells.

During that period, Drameh helped Luton claim promotion to the Premier League via 2022-23 Championship Play-Offs, yet couldn’t prevent Birmingham suffering relegation to League One at the end of last season.

Leeds offered Drameh a new contract this summer but he chose to leave Elland Road for Hull, where he has signed a three-year contract until June 2027 with option for a further year.

“I’m really happy to be here,” commented Drameh. “It feels like it’s been coming for a bit of time for me.”

Explaining his decision behind making the switch to Hull, Drameh spoke of his need for belonging and settlement.

“What attracted me was the owner and the interest the club showed in me. Everyone seemed like they really wanted me. It’s a pleasure to feel wanted and that was something that attracted me.

“It’s been a bit unstable for me – I’ve been around a lot – so now to finally settle down in Hull, and hopefully do some big things with Hull, is really nice.”

Drameh also teased fans as to what they can expect from him as he added: “I’d say I’m an all-rounder. I like to get up and down, quite energetic, I like defending, one-v-ones and I can add something in attack.

“Now it’s finally done, I’m looking forward to getting my head down, getting among the team and working with the coaches. I’m really looking forward to a positive season.”
