Lance Stroll will stay with Aston Martin on a multi-year contract.

Lance – son of Aston Martin team part-owner, Lawrence Stroll, currently lies 11th in this season’s drivers’ standings with 17 points and just four top-ten finishes in the first 10 rounds of the season.

Although it was expected that he would remain with the team due to his father’s role as chairman, Lance’s future beyond this season wasn’t officially confirmed until Aston Martin released an official statement.

Addressing his “super happy” decision to stay with Aston Martin, Lance reflected on the last five years with the team – having joined when formerly known as Racing Point – during which he took podiums in 2020 Italian and Sakhir Grands Prix plus pole in Turkey that season.

“It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in the last five years; we’ve grown so much as a team and there’s still so much more to look forward to.”

Aston Martin Team Principal, Mike Krack added: “We are delighted to confirm Lance’s future with Aston Martin Aramco. He has played a key role in building this team.

“His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season.

“The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realise our ambitions. We look forward to creating some more incredible memories and achieving further success together.”

Stroll will continue to partner Fernando Alonso who signed a new contract earlier in the year.
