UEFA Euro 2024: Group Stage – Denmark vs England

Denmark face England in a mouth-watering Group C encounter at UEFA Euro 2024.

A draw between Slovenia and Serbia plus a win would also see England top Group C with a game to spare.

Team News

England also have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 win over Serbia.

When is Kick-Off?

Denmark meet England at Waldstadion, Frankfurt, on Thursday 20 June at 6pm CEST (5pm UK Time), live on BBC1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Denmark are winless in their two previous Euros meetings against England (D1, L1).
  • England drew 0-0 against Denmark in their only previous Group Stage clash in this competition, which came at Euro 1992 which the Danes went on to win.
  • Denmark have scored first in each of their last four matches (W3, D1).
  • Jude Bellingham has scored in each of his last two appearances for England (W1, D1).

Prediction

After battling to a 1-1 draw against Slovenia despite having had to dig deep defensively late in the second half, Denmark will need to bring their top performance at both ends of the pitch if want to put top spot in their own hands.

England meanwhile were a game of two halves because their first half was outstanding from their attacking intensity, yet they looked vulnerable throughout the second half but dug in defensively but they need to be more consistent and involve Harry Kane more up front.

If England learn from that second half and can play with the same level across 90 minutes then they should have the edge here, but Denmark do have players who know how England’s players play individually so this won’t be easy.

Prediction: Denmark 1-2 England

Result: Denmark 1-1 England
