Slovenia meet Serbia in a huge Group D clash at UEFA Euro 2024.
Victory would put Slovenia top before England play Denmark in the teatime match, whilst Serbia could go top for a few hours if can win by a two-goal margin.
Team News
Slovenia have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-1 draw against Denmark.
Serbia will be without defender, Filip Kostic after he suffered a tournament-ending knee injury in their defeat to England.
When is Kick-Off?
Slovenia meet Serbia at Allianz Arena, Munich, on Thursday 20 June at 3pm CEST (2pm UK Time), live on ITV1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Slovenia’s first-ever meeting against Serbia at UEFA Euros.
- Serbia are meeting Slovenia for the first time in all major tournament finals of individual competitions.
- Slovenia are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive draws for the first time since a five-match run between October 2018 – March 2019.
- Out of five Serbian players to register shots on target against England, Dusan Vlahovic was the only player to convert two shots onto target.
Prediction
Unfancied by some to not finish in the top two in Group C, Slovenia gave a credible account of themselves in their opening game with a great attacking performance – especially in the second half to snatch a deserved draw but this is must-win if want a chance of a top-two finish.
Serbia meanwhile were outplayed by England in the opening half-hour of their game but eventually looked the stronger side, yet just lacked that clinical end product quality to break the Three Lions down and were defensively undone by a moment of poor marking.
My instinct though is that this could end in a draw because although Serbia should score here, I do feel that Slovenia do have enough quality to snatch something if play like they did in the closing stages against Denmark.
Prediction: Slovenia 1-1 Serbia
Result: Slovenia 1-1 Serbia
