Arsenal Women have announced that their 2024-25 pre-season tour will take place in USA.
Jonas Eidevall’s Gunners will be based in Washington D.C. from 15-26 August and will play a friendly against National Women’s Soccer League club, Washington Spirit at Audi Field on Sunday 18 August.
They will return to the same venue a week later on 25 August for a friendly against Women’s Super League and London rivals, Chelsea, who will be preparing for their first season under Sonia Bompastor following Emma Hayes’ exit.
Arsenal will also conduct a training camp at George Mason University during their stay with the club’s partner, Hotels.com organising accommodation.
Sporting Director, Edu Gaspar believes that this pre-season tour will prepare the team for next season to the best possible standard.
“We always want to create the best conditions for our teams to prepare and perform at their best in pre-season. This gives our players an opportunity to play and train in a new environment, in front of our supporters around the world.
“We look forward to a strong pre-season for our men’s and women’s teams, laying the foundations for a successful season ahead.”
Arsenal’s Managing Director, Richard Garlick added that this pre-season tour for the Women’s Team marks “another sign of great progress.”
The pre-season tour won’t be the first time that Eidevall’s team have played aboard after they beat A League All Star Women in a post-season friendly in Melbourne, Australia, last month.
Garlick therefore views this Stateside tour as a chance to build upon their fanbase especially in America, where their male counter-parts will also play pre-season friendlies in July.
“We know from our recent trip to Australia that the interest and love for Arsenal Women stretches far and wide. We want to build on that and bring our US supporters closer to the club.
“We look forward to our visit and building strong foundations for a momentous season ahead, which will see more women’s games come to Emirates Stadium.”
