2023-24 Premier League: Week 38 – Sheffield United vs Tottenham

Sheffield United welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Bramall Lane on the final day of 2023-24 Premier League season.

Chris Wilder’s Blades will finish rock bottom regardless of the result, whilst Tottenham need to just avoid defeat to secure fifth place.

When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Utd host Tottenham at Bramall Lane on Sunday 19 May at 4pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Sheffield Utd have won two of their last six league meetings against Tottenham (W2, D1, L3).
  • Tottenham have lost three of their last five league visits to Sheffield Utd (W1, D1, L3).
  • Ex Spurs striker, Harry Kane has scored in each of their last two league visits to Sheffield Utd.
  • No team have lost more matches this season than Sheffield Utd (27).
  • Tottenham are winless in their last five away matches (D1, L4).

Prediction

After a disastrous campaign with too many awful defensive displays which have proven costly, Sheffield Utd will be disappointed to have not got a result at Everton where their end product simply cost them amidst another sloppy moment of marking which was punished.

Tottenham meanwhile simply weren’t clinical enough to beat City but I do hope that they didn’t exert all their energy on that game, because this is a game where they really should win to secure fifth which might feel disappointing for some given their early-season form.

If Wilder’s Blades can come out and perform like they did on Merseyside but with better end product, they might get something if lucky but Spurs really should win here.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1-2 Tottenham

Result: Sheffield United 0-3 Tottenham
