Aggie Beever-Jones has received her maiden England call-up in an expanded 28-player squad for this summer’s UEFA Euro 2025 qualifiers.
Following Rachel Daly’s decision to retire from international football after last month’s win away to Republic of Ireland – which put the Lionesses second in their qualifying group, Beever-Jones has received her first senior international call-up.
Millie Bright has returned in defence following her return in recent weeks from a knee injury.
Manchester United’s Maya Le Tissier has been named as a stand-by player in an unusual move by manager – Sarina Wiegman to name back-up players in an official squad list for both sets of qualifiers from 31 May – 4 June then 12-16 July.
Goalkeeper – Kayla Rendell, midfielder – Missy Bo Kearns and forward – Jess Naz have also received call-ups as stand-by players, with Kearns and Naz both handed their first senior call-ups whilst Rendell was added to the squad last month after Khiara Keating suffered an injury.
Wiegman has otherwise named the same squad as she did for last month’s qualifiers with Mary Earps, Leah Williamson, Ella Toone and Beth Mead amongst players to retain their places in the squad.
England will host France at St James’ Park, Newcastle, on Friday 31 May before heading to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Saint-Etienne, for the return leg on Tuesday 4 June with both matches kicking off at 8pm UK Time.
Wiegman’s Lionesses will then host Republic of Ireland at Carrow Road on Friday 12 July at 8pm UK Time, before heading to Gothenburg to face Sweden in their final qualifier on Tuesday 16 July (time tbc), with latter games broadcast live on ITV1 in the UK.
England’s home game against France however has been demoted to ITV4 to allow for the last semi-final of Britain Got Talent to usurp the ITV1 slot that evening.
In-between the international windows, the players will participate in a four-day training camp at St George’s Park between 19-22 June, followed by a five-day camp across 24-28 June.
The squad will then head to the Netherlands for one last preparation camp between 1-5 July during which they will face the Dutch in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
