Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Cole Palmer have received two nominations in 2023-24 Premier League Awards.
Having won the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Season award last week, Foden is now up for Premier League’s Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards, after he scored 16 goals and created eight assists in the league campaign for Manchester City.
Foden’s teammate – Haaland coupled with Newcastle’s Isak and Chelsea’s Palmer however will pose tough opposition for the 23 year-old across both categories, with the latter trio managing 66 league goals and 15 goals in total between them this season.
Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard and British record signing – Declan Rice are also nominated for Player of the Season, alongside Liverpool captain – Virgil van Dijk and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, who has scored 19 goals this season for the fourth-placed Villains.
Odegaard and Rice’s fellow Gunners, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba are nominated for Young Player of the Season along with Destiny Udogie of their North London rivals, Tottenham.
Despite Manchester United’s struggles this campaign, midfielder – Kobbie Mainoo has rounded out the eight-player shortlist for Young Player of the Season after he established himself in the first-team with two goals in 21 league appearances amidst an injury crisis at the club.
Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola is the surprise nomination in the Manager of the Season category, having guided the Cherries to mid-table safety after a winless start to the season with no wins in their first nine league matches.
Iraola however will face top competition from the managers of the top four clubs; Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Man City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Villa’s Unai Emery.
There are separate football expert panel and public votes with the results of both votes combined to determine the winner, with the public vote taking place on EA Sports website until 12pm BST on Monday 13 May, with the winner announced on Saturday 18 May.
