2023-24 Premier League: Week 33 – Nottingham Forest vs Wolves

Relegation-battling Nottingham Forest host Wolves at the City Ground in a Premier League encounter between the Midlands rivals.

Victory would put Forest up to 16th and potentially three points clear of the drop, whilst Wolves can go ninth with a win if Brighton lose elsewhere.

Morgan Gibbs-White is a doubt for Forest after he suffered a knock during their defeat at Tottenham last weekend.

Willy Boly (muscle), Nuno Tavares (thigh) and Taiwo Awoniyi (unspecified) remain absent.

Wolves could be without Rayan Ait-Nouri after he suffered a calf injury in their controversial loss to West Ham.

Hwang Hee-Chan (hamstring) could also feature but Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (knee) and Pedro Neto (hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Forest meet Wolves at the City Ground on Saturday 13 April at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Getting any result at Tottenham was always a tough ask for Forest but a mixture of momentary defensive errors and wasteful attacking proved their downfall, but they need to just reset given how they demolished Fulham in their last home match.

Wolves meanwhile blew West Ham away in the first half but a second-half dip in quality and defensive mistakes proved costly, although I do think that they deserved an equaliser unlike VAR’s view because Lukasz Fabianski stood little chance of saving Max Kilman’s header anyway.

Both teams therefore will have different motivations coming into this game but if Forest start as well as they’ve done in their last two games, I can see them boosting their survival hopes with a crucial win but Wolves do have the quality to grind out a result.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Wolves

Result: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Wolves
