Brentford host Sheffield United at Gtech Community Stadium in a huge clash in the race for Premier League survival.

Sheffield Utd will stay bottom regardless of the result.

Brentford could welcome Kevin Schade (adductor) and Ethan Pinnock (ankle) back into contention.

Christian Norgaard (back) is a doubt but Aaron Hickey (hamstring), Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry (both knee) and Ben Mee (ankle) remain absent.

Sheffield Utd could be without defender, Jack Robinson after he suffered an ankle injury during their 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Chris Basham, Max Lowe (both ankle), Rhian Brewster, Rhys Norrington-Davies (both hamstring), George Baldock, Tom Davies (both calf), John Egan (foot) and Daniel Jebbison (illness) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Brentford host Sheffield Utd at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 13 April at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Brentford lost their only previous Premier League meeting against Sheffield Utd, which came in a 1-0 loss at Bramall Lane in December 2023.
  • This is Sheffield Utd’s first visit to Brentford at Gtech Community Stadium and in the Premier League too, but have lost two of their last seven trips to the Bees (W4, D1, L2).
  • Both teams have scored in their last three clashes in West London, with Brentford scoring six goals to Sheffield Utd’s five.
  • Another draw would see Brentford achieve four consecutive draws for the first time in the Premier League, and their first in all league competitions since March – April 2021.
  • Oli McBurnie has been booked in Sheffield Utd’s last two away matches.

Prediction

Although they still linger above the relegation zone, Brentford finally seem to be finding some form but they just need to cut out the defensive sloppiness we saw at Villa because they clearly have the attacking quality to get that first win since February.

Sheffield Utd meanwhile seem resigned to relegation after accepting a two-point deduction for next season but they certainly showed grit and energy to fight back for a draw against Chelsea, showing that there is still some desire within this team despite survival looking bleak.

Brentford therefore should be aware of Chris Wilder’s Blades’ improved attacking intensity but if they can play like they did at Villa, albeit with tidier defending then they should win this and ease closer to safety.

Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Sheffield United

Result: Brentford 2-0 Sheffield United
