Down in the relegation zone, Ben Brereton Diaz’s brace and Oli McBurnie’s strike couldn’t prevent Sheffield United from suffering a 3-3 draw at home to Fulham, as Joao Palhinha briefly equalised before late goals from Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Rodrigo Muniz rescued the Cottagers a point.

Comeback goals from Josh Cullen and Dara O’Shea saw second-bottom Burnley snatch a 2-2 draw at Chelsea, after the Blues led twice through Cole Palmer’s brace after the Clarets’ Lorenz Assignon was red carded as was his manager – Vincent Kompany.

Chris Wood’s header cancelled out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s strike as Nottingham Forest came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace, having been given a four-point deduction at the start of the international break which is now under appeal.

Luton consequently slipped back into the bottom three after Issa Kabore’s own-goal and Son Heung-min’s late strike handed Tottenham a 2-1 home win, having fallen behind in the third minute through Tahith Chong’s counter-attack goal.
