2023-24 Premier League: Week 30 – Sheffield United vs Fulham

Relegation-battling Sheffield United entertain European qualification chasing Fulham at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield Utd will stay bottom of the table irrespective of the result, whilst Fulham can go ninth with a win if Newcastle and Chelsea lose elsewhere.

George Baldock is a doubt for Sheffield Utd after he suffered a calf injury whilst on international duty for Greece who failed to qualify for UEFA Euro 2024.

Anis Ben Slimane (hamstring) and Cameron Archer (calf) could be in contention for selection.

Chris Basham, Max Lowe (both ankle), Rhian Brewster, Rhys Norrington-Davies (both hamstring), John Egan (foot) and Daniel Jebbison (illness) remain absent.

Fulham will welcome Raul Jimenez back into contention following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Utd host Fulham at Bramall Lane on Easter Saturday 30 March at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Although they got a draw at Bournemouth in their last outing, it can’t be forgotten how they blew a 2-0 lead because their defence again continues to be their Achilles heel, especially at a time when they can’t afford to be dropping points if want to pull off a great escape.

Fulham meanwhile have found some form in front of goal but they have won just one of their last 13 league games on the road, yet this is a huge opportunity because they’re facing one of the league’s worst-ever defences which they must take if want to push for European qualification.

Marco Silva’s Cottagers also have the confidence from having torn Tottenham apart in a clinical display a fortnight ago, and I do expect them to kick on despite their poor away form because the Blades do look there for a wiping at the back.

Prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 Fulham

Result: Sheffield United 3-3 Fulham
